Robert W. Abendroth, CFP®, ChFC®

Wealth Advisor

Bobby Abendroth joined Winthrop Wealth to serve clients and their families as a Wealth Advisor. He focuses on helping clients feel confident and bringing intention and organization to their financial lives. Everyone’s goals and values are unique and he strongly believes a sound plan executed with conviction and the flexibility to adapt is more valuable than delay with the hope that a perfect plan will emerge. For Bobby, a plan that looks good on paper is not enough. He works through what is in front of clients today while staying focused on what may come next. He lives by the motto “Plan for tomorrow, today” and it is not just something he says; it is how he tirelessly works.

Bobby’s goal is for clients to leave each conversation with confidence and the understanding of where they stand. This empowers people to focus on what matters most to them, whether that be their family, career, or the causes they are most passionate about.

Bobby started his professional career at PwC dedicated to reviewing risk and internal controls for financial services companies. Nearly a decade later, he wanted to work directly with people on a more personal level and therefore made an intentional change. This new path led him to NYLIFE Securities and Eagle Strategies for about 12 years before joining Winthrop Wealth. Bobby is a CFP® professional and ChFC® designee, holds a degree from Colby College, and a Master’s in Accountancy from Bentley University.

Bobby grew up in Wellesley, MA and now lives in South Natick with his wife Christie, who works for the Boston Athletic Association, and his son Odin who is in elementary school. Bobby enjoys running and has recently completed a few marathons. Each training block has been an opportunity to improve, adjust his approach, navigate injuries, and ultimately get across the finish line. Having played soccer his entire life and in college, Bobby now coaches Odin’s youth soccer team in Natick. His previous community engagement involved acting as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, volunteering at Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp for children who have lost a parent, and at the MGH Pediatric Oncology unit. He currently guides athletes with Achilles International in Boston when he can join their weekly practice. Bobby is loyal, committed to values-based interactions, and appreciates the occasional glass of Brunello wine.
